Dr Jean Sorohan, Chartered Clinical Psychologist.
Dr Jean Sorohan is a Senior Clinical Psychologist based in Cavan, with over 20 years of clinical experience across public and private services supporting children, teens, and families through evidence-based psychological assessment and therapy.
Dr. Jean is a Chartered Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). She completed an Honours undergraduate degree in Psychology and English Literature and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Trinity College Dublin.
Her Approach.
Dr Jean values taking an individualised child-led and family-focused approach, offering thoughtful assessment and therapy that prioritises the needs and goals of the child and family. She values connection and cultivating meaningful therapeutic engagements through play and talking therapy. Her goals are to foster emotional resilience and to help build coping skills.
Dr. Jean prioritises an ethical and evidence based approach, continually undertaking additional training and keeping up to date with best clinical practice.
As a parent herself, Dr. Jean is passionate about working collaboratively to support and empower parents with practical, evidence-based strategies that enhance family relationships.
